In terms of foreign direct investment attraction, 1 new projects were
licensed in 2018 with a registered capital of 1.96 million USD, equal to the
project number of 2017 and increase of 345% in registered capital compared
to 2017.
4. Price index and core inflation
Consumer price index (CPI) in December 2018 increased by 1.83%
compared to that in December 2017. In 2018, the average CPI increased by
2.78% compared to that in 2017.
Gold price index in December 2018 decreased by 0.59% from the same
period in 2017; the average index in 2018 was 0.08% higher than that in
2017. The USD price index in December 2018 rose 2.67% over the same
period in 2017; the average index in 2018 was 1.24% higher than that in
2017.

5. Business registration
Number of newly established enterprises in 2018 hit a new record with
247 enterprises, an increase of 0.82% compared with that in 2017. Total
registered capital reached 1,773 billion VND, rising by 21.67%; the average
registered capital of a newly established enterprises in 2018 was 7.18 billion
VND, rising by 20.67%.
114 enterprises temporarily ceased in 2018, increasing by 21.28% over
the previous year.

6. Results of business production in some sectors
- The agriculture, forestry and fishing
+ Agriculture
Production of cereals recorded 116.057 tons, an increase of
0.16% compared to that in 2017, of which paddy production reached 91,625
tons, an increase of 0.68% (Spring paddy production reached 33,614 tons, an
increase of 2.32%; winter paddy production gained 58,011 tons, a decrease of
0.25%).

The following numbers were production records: Cassava 579,571 tons an
increase of 0.53%; Suger 84,490 tons a decrease of 3.99%; rubber reached
56.619 tons, an increase of 5.68%; pepper reached 317 tons, an increase of
